Success Story

I've never been much of a "shmoozer", so the thought of calling up a complete stranger has always made me very uncomfortable. Throw in the fact that there was going to be a pretty girl picking up the phone, and I was a bundle of nerves. Although I tried my best to come up with every good reason why I wouldn't be able to make the call, the shadchan was clearly too experienced to buy it. I was left with no choice but to pick up the phone and dial... silently praying that she had forgotten about our appointment and wasn't near her phone. At worst, I'd talk about the weather for 10 minutes and then make up a reason for needing to get off the phone. When Sarah picked up, she sounded excited for my call, as if she had been preparing for it all day. I could hear her smiling on the other end. Her sweet, gentle voice seemed to instantly calm my nerves, and I was able to relax enough to start breathing again. Now at ease, I started to make jokes and act a little silly. Her warm laughter only encouraged me more, and before no time I felt like I was chatting with a close friend, not someone that I had never even met. It should come as no surprise that those 10 minutes passed by in a heartbeat. In fact, that very first conversation lasted almost 2 and a half hours, way past both of our bedtimes. I don't have enough time right now to go into detail about how our first date went (trust me, it's a great story), but needless to say, everything worked out perfectly. Baruch Hashem, just 29 days since our first meeting, Sarah and I got engaged, and I have been blessed with the opportunity of seeing Sarah's beautiful smile for many, many years to come. We are forever grateful to our amazing shadchan and all the wonderful people at SYAS. Attached is a photo of the most gorgeous kallah you've ever seen, and the luckiest guy in the world standing next to her. Thank you!!!
