This site, called Secret Tel Aviv Dating, is in partnership with the site Secret Tel Aviv, a website which keeps residents of Tel Aviv up to date on various events and happenings. Now, Secret Tel Aviv can even help people find a lifelong partner.
“The next feature (of Secret Tel Aviv) that is my favorite has to be the dating feature.” said Jonathan Stark, creator of Secret Tel Aviv, “Everyone knows how hard it is to date in the city!”
Secret Tel Aviv seeks to integrate new immigrants into Israeli society. The majority of Olim leave Israel within a few years of arrival, because they cannot connect with Israeli society. The site can help Olim find jobs, find friends, and, now with Secret Tel Aviv Dating, find a spouse. The dating site’s database features both Israelis and recent immigrants so that the two populations can mingle.
This website is based off of the successful model of JMatchMaking, which has married off over 2,000 singles. It features live matchmakers who get to know the singles and then use their knowledge to suggest matches to the singles. If the two singles continue dating, the matchmaker keeps in touch with them to provide advice and support.
“I think some of the dating sites and apps out here have lost what it means to date.” lamented Jonathan Stark, “They offer a picture and that’s it.
